The beta has always been listed for this spring, not when Crackdown ships.
Since the announcement that one way into Halo 3's beta program would be through purchasing Realtime Worlds' Crackdown, the two Microsoft Game Studios titles have been linked at the hip. Game blog Destructoid showed a screenshot (pictured) of what gamers will see when they pop in Crackdown next week. These retail discs don't have the Halo 3 beta enabled on them right now, but does that mean they will on February 20?
Nope. February 20 is not the date you're looking for if you're looking for a start date for Halo 3's beta program. Microsoft and Bungie have both said the beta would start in the "Spring," and gamers expecting to pop Crackdown into their Xbox 360 and jump into Halo 3 will be disappointed.
